3PL Worldwide Announces Multi-Year Contract With World Wrestling Entertainment

[Milford, Conn., May 19, 2009] – 3PL Worldwide, provider of third-party logistics to direct response, e-commerce, and catalog marketers, announced that World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has signed a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract for all aspects of inventory management, order fulfillment, call center operations, and customer service. The contract continues the four-year relationship between 3PL Worldwide and WWE, the global leader in sports entertainment. 3PL Worldwide has been given sole responsibility for the customer fulfillment of all 3,000-plus products featured in WWE’s catalogue and e-commerce site (www.wweshop.com) including apparel, action figures, accessories, DVDs, and video games.

The new contract will fully utilize 3PL Worldwide’s customer service and fulfillment capabilities at its Milford, CT headquarters and warehouse. There is also potential to incorporate 3PL’s newly expanded West Coast operations for special projects. According to Jeff Sgro, Senior Director of E-Commerce and Venue Operations at WWE, “We have had a profitable business relationship with 3PL Worldwide over the past four years and I have known the management for over 10. It just made good business sense to retain 3PL as a partner to help us grow our multichannel retail operations. Our fan base is extremely important to WWE; we want the ability to immerse them in our product. 3PL allows us to do this given their proven record of superior service and technology.”

Clyde Mount, President of 3PL Worldwide, states, “Since we started working together on e-commerce and catalog, 3PL has reduced WWE’s shipping and packaging expense. In addition, our new Interactive Voice Recognition system (IVR) has measurably reduced customer service costs. We look forward to making further improvements to bolster both margins and volume.”

Working with 3PL Worldwide to improve the functionality of and sales at WWE’s online webstore will be netCentrix, LLC. The company will provide ongoing e-Commerce strategy, development and hosting services.
